Regular Distribution of Hygienic Supplies

Regular Distribution of Hygienic Supplies

Project Summary

With severe restrictions on what can be brought into Gaza, even basic hygienic supplies have become scarce. GPAA works to distribute soap, sanitary products, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items across the strip — wherever and whenever access allows.

Why this matters

In crowded camp conditions, hygiene is public health. Access to clean water, soap, and proper sanitation can prevent disease from spreading through entire populations, and it improves quality of life in ways that touch every part of daily living.

Disease prevention

  • Fewer waterborne illnesses. Clean water and proper sanitation cut down on cholera, typhoid, and diarrheal disease — the illnesses that move fastest through camps.
  • Better hygiene practices. Reliable access to soap and handwashing facilities reduces the spread of respiratory and skin infections.
  • Quality of life. Beyond the medical benefits, having access to basic hygienic supplies restores a measure of normalcy to families whose lives have been upended.
