Gaza’s education system has been pushed to the edge. Schools, universities, and kindergartens have been damaged or destroyed, and an entire generation of students has watched their classrooms disappear. Against that backdrop, the Gaza Palestinian American Association continues to invest in education — not as a luxury, but as the foundation on which any future recovery will be built.

One of our recent initiatives has been the support of Al-Furat School in Deir al-Balah, in southern Gaza. Our contribution has focused on the practical essentials that keep a school running: notebooks, pens, stationery, and the basic supplies that allow teachers to teach and students to keep learning despite the conditions outside.

Recognizing top-performing students

Material support is only part of the picture. Alongside supplies, the Association has helped organize events that honor students who have performed well — children who, in the middle of a war, have still found a way to study and excel. Recognizing them matters. It tells every student in the school that effort is seen and valued, and it offers a small but real reason to keep going.

Al-Furat School is one piece of a wider commitment. The Association continues to work across Gaza to keep classrooms open and to make sure that, whatever else children have lost, they do not lose their education as well.
